 Amend business license

Our valued customer, you can perform different types of amendments on your valid business license or upon renewal. The following information will answer most of your questions about amending a business license in Dubai:

Amending a business license consists of 4 steps:​

  • Fill in the Registration and Licensing Form
  • Collect Business Activity-Specific Approvals (if required)
  • Submit Supporting Documents(if required)
  • Pay and collect your updated license
DED ​​​​​​​​​STEP 1 Fill in the Registration and Licensing Form

 

Select the amendment you would like to make and get the initial approval through the following channels: ​


  1. Service centers

  2. Happiness Lounge


 
DED STEP 2 Collect Business Activity-Specific Approvals (if required)

 

If your business activity is regulated by other government departments, you need to contact them to approve your business license amendment. DED staff will advise you (in step 1) if the license amendment requires business activity-specific approvals from government bodies other that the DED.


DED Step 3 Submit Supporting Documents(if required)

 

The documents required to support your application will depend on the type of amendment and the legal form. The supporting documents include but not limited to the following:

  • Addendum to Memorandum of Association and other legal documents related to the type of amendment (e.g. the new local service agent agreement - or company agent agreement- in case you need to change the current local service agent​)
  • Documents related to partners/shareholders/staff include:
    • Copy of passport and ID card (UAE national’s family book)
    • Copy of the residence permit / visa details (for non- GCC nationals)
    • No objection letter from the applicant’s current sponsor (for non-GCC nationals)
    • Official documents associated with the replacement of heirs and devolution of license or shares.
  • No objection letter from the parent company for amending the license in addition to the authenticated documents required as per the legal form. (e.g. add a business activity for a foreign company branch)​

DED Step 4 Pay and collect your updated license

 

You need to submit the required approvals and documents mentioned in steps 1,2,3 through the following channels:​

  1. Service centers

  2. Happiness Lounge


Finally, you will be issued with a payment voucher or a transaction number, which you will need to use as a reference when you pay. You can make the payment and collect your updated license through various approved payment channels​. Amended license can be collected through the user account page as well.


Remember:

In the event of non-payment within 6 months of receiving the payment voucher, transaction will be cancelled automatically.
